Improving Lives Everyday

At South Bay Hearing and Balance we are passionate about improving our patient’s lives through better hearing. We’re aware that hearing loss affects people’s lives in many ways especially your relationships with friends and family. The ability to communicate with other people is one of the strongest and most basic human needs and we know that hearing loss slowly robs that from people resulting in frustration, depression and isolation. Our goal is not only to improve our patients’ hearing but to improve the quality of their lives.

Experience the Difference a Private Practice Can Make

South Bay Hearing & Balance is the only full time, independent, private Audiology practice in the South Bay and that difference is immediately noticeable from the moment you walk in the door. We pride ourselves on providing the type of customer service that you think didn’t exist anymore, the type that just doesn’t exist in “hearing aid stores” that are owned by big corporations. We treat patients the way we would like to be treated and we feel that everything that happens in our office is a reflection of ourselves. There is a very noticeable difference when you are seeing the owner of a business rather than an employee of a corporation.

We provide a 90-day Trial Period to help you adapt to your new hearing aids.
The Trial Period is the Most Important Part of the Hearing Aid Fitting

Typically hearing loss comes on gradually over many years. That’s why we take a more rehabilitative approach to hearing aid dispensing. We nearly always program hearing aids fairly soft at the initial fitting and gradually reintroduce sound over the 3 month trial period. These follow-up visits are critical to successful hearing aid use. At each appointment measurements will be made of the sound levels and quality of your hearing aids. We also want to understand as much as possible what your experience is with your new aids. Based on your experience and our measurements, your aids will be gradually adjusted at each visit to allow you to adapt to improved hearing at your own pace. We have found that this significantly increases the likelihood that you will have success with your new instruments.
